Classical Music + Tech + Art = A 3D Printed 6-String Violin Experience
Violinist Sean Riley needed a 6-string (instead of 4) electric violin in order to perform The Dharma at Big Sur by American Composer John Adams, but he could not afford one so what did he do? He 3D printed one in collaboration with engineer Daniel Goodwin and sculptor Rebecca Milton at UT Austin.
Come experience the ingenuity of classical music united with 3D printing technology and visual art in extraordinary venues including Utah Museum of Fine Art’s G.W. Anderson Family Great Hall and Bountiful Davis Arts Center. Dr. Sean Riley will perform commissions and arrangements for the 3D printed 6-string electric violin along with Bartók, Sarasate, and Medtner in collaboration with concert pianist Farshad Zadeh.
